Telephone Consultation


If you would like to speak to the Doctor or a telephone Consultation, please let the receptionist know.  The Doctor will be able to talk to you after the morning surgery.  


If there is an Urgent Medical Problem which cannot wait till then,  please let the receptionist know and he/she will try to interrupt the consultation and ask the Doctor to speak to you.




Sexual Health/Contraception/Cervical Smears


Total confidentiality ensured. Please speak to the Doctor if there is any concern regarding any forms of contraception or queries on sexual health.


Chaperones is always available.  If you feel more comfortable with a familiar face then bring a friend or a relative with you at your consultation.  They are most welcomed.






We enjoy the sharing of antenatal visits with the hospital as we prefer to start the care of the new member of the family before the actual birth.






Blood Pressure (6 monthly monitoring if well controlled) checks for Oral Contraception and Hormone Replacement Therapy and for establised raised blood pressure.







Phlebotomy - Blood Tests and Specimen Collection


There is a daily specimen collection service for patient samples which is taken to Barnet General Hospital / Chase Farm Hospital at 10.30am Monday to Friday. 


All blood tests can be taken at Chase Farm Hospital or Barnet Hospital.  Appointments can be booked either via the phone on 020 8375 1471 or on-line on this link for CFH or this link for BGH


Alternatively you can also attend the walk-in clinic at Cheshunt Community Hospital from Monday-Friday, 8am-3.30pm. Please note that doors may close early if there are too many patients waiting. Call 01992 622157 for details.



Pathology Results


It is imperative to contact receptionist for results and action required after every investigation

  • 7 days for most blood tests, urine/stool samples and swab results
  • 2 weeks for x-ray/ultra sound/MRI scan reports
  • 3 weeks for cervical smear test results

If you do not ask, we would never know if the specimen got lost in transit to the laboratory. Unfortunately specimen get misplaced at times, though very rarely. 


Childhood/Holiday Vaccinations 


All minors under 16 years should ideally be accompanied by an adult



Patient or Parental consent (verbal/written) will be requested for all vaccinations, injections, procedures and letters for written reports.

Counselling (individual / family)


This practice interests in self-help, encourages non-dependency with minimal use of minor tranquiliser.






Care for Chronic Diseases


6 monthly check for :

  • Heart Disease/Stroke/Blood pressure
  • Diabetes/Epilepsy/Thyroid problems
  • Asthma/Respiratory problems





Flu/Pneumonia Vaccination 




For patients over 65’s or young patients with chronic illness e.g. heart disease, Diabetes, kidney problem, immunosuppressant treatment etc : annually from October.






Non NHS Services


Please note that non-NHS services will incur a fee to be processed and must be paid in cash in advance to Reception.  At least 48 working hours notice are required for any requested forms or letters from the GP
